What are the different types of screening method available for different type of cancer?
I. Breast Cancer Screening: – Breast cancer is the most frequent type of cancer related death in women worldwide.

- Screening through mammography reduces the odds of dying of breast cancer.
- Screening can start at the age of forty (40).
- Screening must start early if there is a family history of breast cancer.
II. Prostate Cancer Screening: – Prostate cancer is common and is among the main causes of cancer related death in men.

- Prostate Cancer grows so slowly that it does not impact survival, however routine screening can detect cancer at an early stage and right treatment can be taken.
- Men above 50 years old should be screened using a simple blood test called, Serum PSA level to looks for prostate cancer at least once a year.
- Screening should start early for men who has significant family history of prostate cancer.
III. Colorectal Cancer Screening (CRC): – CRC is a common and lethal cancer worldwide and is one of the leading causes of cancer related death.

- Most CRC cases are from colon polyp which progress from small (less than 8mm) to 8mm polyp and then to dysplasia and cancer.
- In CRC the progression from polyp to cancer would take an average of ten years.
- Starting at the age of 50 screening colonoscopy can detect the polyp, which is then send for biopsy.
- Screening through colonoscopy should be repeated once every ten year.
- The screening should start early for people with family history of colon cancer.
